All 10 Frisco ISD high schools will continue to compete together in one district in all sports except football during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years. In football, six FISD football teams will compete in a district in 5A Division I and four FISD teams will compete in a district in 5A Division II.
Here is the breakdown from the UIL’s latest realignment, which was unveiled Monday morning:
--- All Sports Except Football ---
(District number will vary in some sports, such as swimming and wrestling, in which schools from outside FISD are also included)
--- Football Districts ---

7-5A DIVISION II

FISD’s 11th high school, Emerson, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2021 but is not part of the realignment because it won’t have varsity teams until the fall of 2022. Emerson and FISD’s 12th high school, which is unnamed as of now, will be part of the UIL realignment in 2022. The 12th high school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2022.
All FISD high schools are in Class 5A, which is the second largest in UIL and includes schools with enrollments between 1,210 and 2,219 students. Class 6A will have schools with enrollments of 2,200 or more, including more than a dozen high schools with over 4,000 students.
Football is the only sport in which the UIL divides schools into Division I and Division II. It is done based on the enrollments reported from schools on a “Snapshot Day,” which for this enrollment was in October of 2019.
The FISD high school enrollments from that day:
Lebanon Trail: 1,874
Lone Star: 2,096
